The Non-Hasbro Rip Devestator.
Written by Ray on May 12, 2009 – 12:13 pm -
As a Transformers fan-boy and amateur toy collector I was very disappointed when I found out that the Revenge of the Fallen Devastator would not be able to have its individual robots be able to transform from vehicle to robot to Devastator, rather that woud be a different set.
Luckily some random ass toy company did what Hasbro didn’t. Personally I am holding off buying any form of the new Devastator unless it is a triple changer and I can buy it off a store shelf.

NYC Toy Fair Transformers.
Written by Ray on February 23, 2009 – 2:18 pm -Â
Last week was a thrilling week for me, first started with the new Transformers trailer. Â Then coinciding during that weekend was the New York Toy Fair.Â
And what happened at the NY Toy Fair? A lot of Transformers toys are what happened.Â
Below are a few of the gems.

First up is Devastator. As excited as I am to see him(them?) enter the series I find his face disgusting. Green slimy vapor stuff??? Really?Â
I have also read rumors that the individual toys will be sold in two fashions, one the vehicles transform into their individual robot mode, while the other forms into Devastator. If this is true then I find it rather pathetic of Hasbro. I was looking forward to blow a good chunk of my pay-cheque on this, but if that is true then no way.

Â
Next the twins, Skids on the top and Mudflap on the bottom. Â Not a lot is clear on their character, but judging by their goggley-eyes, I imagine, yet dread they will be some sort of comical relief.Â
God help us.
Â

Â
The last movie figure is Bumblebee. For whatever reason I really liked the look of this figure.  I didn’t buy a Bumblebee last time around, and glad I didn’t, I find this figure far more attractive then the first.  This Bumblebee figure will come in a two pack with a Sam Witwicky figure. Yes a Shia Leboeuf figure, I wouldn’t of guessed it either.Â
I would highly recommend checking out the rest of the in-depth gallery over on seibertron.comÂ
There you will find about 150 pictures ranging from new Optimus to the individual Constructicons. Â

Transformers Official Movie Prequel; really long name for a really pointless book.
Written by Ray on June 26, 2008 – 6:30 pm -I have a subscription at my local comic book store; one book that I subscribe to is the Reign of Starscream. So I am not sure if it was a mistake or they just thought I would want it, but they threw in Transformers Official Movie Prequel Special. I don’t know what the point of it is. It takes place before the first movie.
Essentially all it is a summary of the four issue original movie prequel. Which makes me confused what the point even is. The only thing it brings to the table that is unique is you get to find out where Wreckage came from. That’s it.
Unless you are a diehard fan and need every book, save your money for the next Reign of Starscream. This book is pointless.

Transformers Convention = Business Trip. Fuck this is awesome.
Written by Ray on June 26, 2008 – 12:42 pm -News from Hasbro. Over the weekend I attended the Toronto TFCon, which for the first time ever, had a panel from Hasbro.
They weren’t allowed to slightly discuses Transformers 2, thought it made sense why, I was disappointed.
Not a whole lot of news. However there were a few little gems.
First off, this fall kicks off the 25th anniversary of Transformers. So what’s that mean? Well releasing lots of G1 toys of course. First release of the series is this November/December they will be releasing a replica to the original Optimus Prime. People yelled with glee, not to gloat but I already own a G1 Optimus.
From there on out they stopped telling dates, so my best guess is sometime early in the New Year. Next toy we have is a Hound packaged with Ravage. Ravage transforms nicely and mounts on Hounds trunk. Excuse my ignorance but why he is packaged with Hound is beyond me.
The last 25th anniversary toy that they mentioned was a Cyclonus and Nightstick. There is little else I can remember about this toy package.
Other toy series that were mentioned was the Titanium series. The series will not be coming back; however there were a few molds created that were never released. Those may go into development, but no new molds will be made. Personally I could care less, I hated the series. Optimus looked like Blaster, and my Soundwaves’ legs collapse into his legs always making him look stumpy.
The only other tidbit of information that I have is that Canada will begin to receive 90-95% of the exclusives that are only available in US stores. This will begin with the Mini-Con set, to be sold at Zellers in the near future.
Only other convention highlights that do not have to do with toys are that Gregg Berger was in attendance. He was the voice of Grimlock, Long Haul, and Skyfire in the G1 series. The man is hilarious, and hearing him yell “ME GRIMLOCK LOVE TORONTO” as Grimlock will be a memory that will probably last a lifetime.
That is all I have to say, that I and I spend a lot of money on G1 Devastator. Curse me weakness for G1 toys.
Unfortunately, I was lazy and didn’t write this sooner hence me forgetting a good chunk of other news. I’ll try to add some images later on.
EDIT: Maybe I won’t add the images, two reasons. One Photoshop is being a bitch and keeps quitting. Second, the only good photo I have is a prototype of Jetfire. Any one want to see it just say so in the comments. And you will have it as soon as photoshop is up and running.

Reign of Starscream makes me giddy for June 29th 2009
Written by Ray on May 22, 2008 – 6:24 pm -Just picked up the first issue “Reign of Starscream” and I loved it. It does an amazing job of filling in some blanks from the movie, and shows some of the Transformers Movie history that was untouched in the prequel comics.
With out giving anything away the story is straight from the point of view of Starscream and how he assumes control of the Decepticons immediately following Megatron abandoning Cybertron to seek out the Allspark.
This book is a must have for any Transformer Movie Enthusiast or any one needing their fix of giant alien robots until Transformers 2 comes out.
