Early 90s Guide To The Internet

Written by Ray on October 23, 2009 – 10:55 am -

Here is an early 90s guide to the internet. It is NSFW which alone is a dead giveaway that its a spoof.

Notable Lessons learned in the video:
A webpage is not something that ducks walk on.
I can send an email to Bill Clinton.
I can install a disk into my computer, then I too can install the internet!

Watch it, you have nothing better to do.

EW EW EW EW; I mean really. People want to spend nearly $200 on a representation of the defining moment where this epic series turned into a joke?

What shocks me is that this is sold out.
Obviously there are many people who will disagree with me on this. To each there own I guess, I just cant understand this.

I have said this before and I will say it again, fuck you George, please stop.

PS3 VS 50 inch Bravia

Written by Ray on October 21, 2009 – 11:20 am -

In the spirit of posting shit getting smashed. Here is a video of a PS3 smashing into a 50 inch Bravia .

This is an ad made my Sony, why they felt the need to destroy two of their products for the sake of advertising I do not know. I do think that they may of made a more rugged PS3. I expected/hoped for a bit more carnage.

Anvil Shooting….yes anvils.

Written by Ray on October 21, 2009 – 10:34 am -

I am actually bewildered how some one came up with the concept for anvil shooting. The concept is simple enough. Pour a lot of gun powder on the surface of one anvil then place another anvil on top, light the fuse, run like hell.

I really want to try this, now just have to find an Anvil store.

Exract

Written by Ray on September 15, 2009 – 11:43 am -

I finally managed to watch Extract over the weekend, although I was very happy with the movie. I wanted more.

For those of you who haven’t watched any of the trailers the film is about Joel (Jason Bateman) who owns an Extract factory who is married to Cindy (Kristen Wiig) a work from home coupon designer and there mundane suburbia marriage which is on the verge of falling apart.

I think the reason I wanted more was mainly because I had no idea what to expect and was hoping for more of a comedy; especially with Jason Bateman and Kristen Wiig as the staring characters.

For me personally I would rank this as my third favourite Mike Judge film with Office Space taking the crown, and I would definitely recommend this film for anyone wanting a break from the shit movies of today.

Reviews for the first Iron Man video game were terrible at best, and which of course always warrants a sequel.

13 Year Old Kid Reviews a G1 Walkman

Written by Ray on June 29, 2009 – 3:50 pm -

Since it appears that I am too lazy to post any reviews here is a review by a 13 year old of a Sony G1 Walkman.

It took me three days to figure out that there was another side to the tape. That was not the only naive mistake that I made; I mistook the metal/normal switch on the Walkman for a genre-specific equalizer, but later I discovered that it was in fact used to switch between two different types of cassette.

Another notable feature that the iPod has and the Walkman doesn’t is “shuffle”, where the player selects random tracks to play. Its a function that, on the face of it, the Walkman lacks. But I managed to create an impromptu shuffle feature simply by holding down “rewind” and releasing it randomly - effective, if a little laboured.

I told my dad about my clever idea. His words of warning brought home the difference between the portable music players of today, which don’t have moving parts, and the mechanical playback of old. In his words, “Walkmans eat tapes”. So my clumsy clicking could have ended up ruining my favourite tape, leaving me music-less for the rest of the day

I am 23 years old and feel old because of that article. The impromptu shuffle button is what really hit home. Damn Kids with their music boxes without buttons.

Microsoft Motion Capture Controlling.

Written by Ray on June 1, 2009 – 3:49 pm -

Furthering the trend of companies assuming gamers want to move something aside from their thumbs; Microsoft today gave us something
unexpected; motion capture controlling.

With this you will be able to use your body to control the game or to navigate through menus and control your avatar. There are a few games on the horizon which include a ball throwing/dodging(doge-ball?), fighting, and a paint game.

All reports coming from people lucky enough to be at E3 have been fantastic.

No date has been given yet on when I can purchase my future method of exercising.
